Glories of the Past

Glories of the yesteryears;

Haunt her like ghosts;

Bringing only grief and tears;

And sorrows which are utmost.

Dark thoughts seem to last,

Previously thought having gone,

While trying to forget the past,

But there! They just hang on.

After such sad story,

Hoping for a new dawn,

Forgetting the past glory,

She tries to move on.

Writing her verses with great pain,

Hoping for the good times to come back again.

  2. This is a very beautiful and poignant poem, Ashwini. While there is sadness and suffering coming from past experiences that extend up to the present time, the she character of your poem wants to move forward. There is always hope no matter how hard certain life moments might be. BTW, thank you so much for the follow. I really appreciate this.
