I know that smile,
The one I’ve seen so many times before
Wondering if this world is worthwhile,
Which says you can’t do this anymore.
That ever thinning crimson veil,
Between you and reality;
Hiding your gruesome tale,
With a false sense of normality.
The one that conceals the hurt,
That piercing pain of trampled dreams,
Suppressed, broken and left in the dirt,
As your ambition begins to tear at the seams.
I know that smile,
That smile, I’ve worn so many times before…
Lovely.

Thanks for visiting and following my blog. Your writing is beautiful and insightful. We all hide behind a smile that eventually wears thin. Remember, there’s a lesson in everything that happens to us. Find that lesson. Then you can live in gratitude.
