Woven Wonder

When I came upon it, I drew in my breath

For upon such exquisite beauty, did my eyes arrest,

The very delicately worked gossamer silken lace,

Seductively suspending there, before my very face!

Stranded gold and silvery thread, Oh! What stitchery to embed!

Encrusted with minute pearls and diamonds glimmery,

And coloured by nature’s true love and harmony,

The most admirable lace ever imagined,

And by human hands,never fashioned!

But! A spider’s web moistened with the early dew,

Gently reflecting the rainbow in all its glorious hues🌈!
